Live updates: Plane crashes in western Indian city of Ahmedabad
India would be expected to take the lead the investigation into the Boeing 787 crash, CNN’s Business editor-at-large Richard Quest said.
The aircraft — an American-made Boeing operated by an Indian airline — was en route to the United Kingdom and had passengers from at least four different countries on board, he said.
India’s civil aviation authorities would be expected to take the lead in the investigation, Quest said, but “parties to the investigation” would also likely include the US, where the aircraft is manufactured, and the UK, the destination country.
The investigation would also likely include “representatives from the countries of the different nationalities” on board, he added.
“A lot of people who will be accredited to the investigation, but the core ones will be the Americans, the British and the Indians,” he said.
