Timeline: Israel’s attacks on hospitals throughout its war on Gaza | Israel-Palestine conflict News

List of some of the severest Israeli attacks on the healthcare system in Gaza since October 23, 2023.
An Israeli air raid has left the last functioning hospital in northern Gaza nonoperational, forcing critically ill patients onto the streets.
The latest attack on al-Ahli Arab Hospital on Sunday comes as Israel seized a corridor south of the war-battered Palestinian territory and said it planned to expand its military offensive after breaking up a ceasefire in March.
Gaza’s Civil Defence said the Israeli air force targeted a building of the hospital in the early hours on Sunday.
The Israeli army and the Shin Bet agency claimed, without providing evidence, to have targeted a Hamas “command and control complex” in the hospital.
Gaza’s healthcare facilities have been targeted repeatedly, including with 2,000-pound bombs made in the United States.
Al-Ahli Hospital is one of at least 36 hospitals that have been bombed and burned by the Israeli military since the start of the war.
Targeting of health facilities, medical personnel and patients is considered a war crime under the 1949 Geneva Convention.
Here’s a list of some of the major attacks on healthcare in Gaza since October 2023:
October 17, 2023
Hundreds of people sheltering in the car park of al-Ahli Hospital were killed in an Israeli attack, according to Palestinian health officials. In the days leading up to the incident, the hospital director reportedly received warnings from Israel. Israel attributed the explosion at the facility to a misfired rocket launched by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, an allegation denied by the armed group.
November 3, 2023
An ambulance convoy was destroyed by an Israeli air attack outside al-Shifa Hospital, resulting in many Palestinian deaths.
November 21, 2023
An air raid on al-Awda Hospital killed Dr Mahmoud Abu Nujaila and Dr Ahmad al-Sahar of Doctors Without Borders (MSF), and another doctor, Ziad al-Tatari.
January 22, 2024
Several people were killed while sheltering about 150 metres (about 500 feet) from the entrance of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. Evacuees sheltering in the area suffered due to fighting and forced evacuation orders.
March 20, 2024
The Israeli military said it killed 90 people in its raid on al-Shifa Hospital during a siege as displaced Palestinians sheltering in the facility described long detentions and abuse. Hamas condemned the “bloody massacre” in the hospital and said civilians, patients and displaced people were among those killed.
March 31, 2024
Many people were killed and injured in an air raid on the yard of Al-Aqsa Hospital, just outside the emergency room where many internally displaced people were sheltering.

April 1, 2024
A 14-day siege of al-Shifa Hospital, the largest hospital in the enclave, by Israeli forces saw hundreds of people killed, including medical staff, and mass arrests of its staff and others.
October 14, 2024
An Israeli air attack on Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir el-Balah killed five people and wounded 65. Tents of displaced people caught fire while people were sleeping.
December 28, 2024
The Israeli army arrested Dr Hussam Abu Safia, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, after refusing to follow orders to abandon one of the last functioning hospitals in northern Gaza. His arrest came a day after the military killed approximately 20 Palestinians and apprehended about 240 in a raid inside the hospital, which was one of the “largest operations” conducted in the territory until that time.
November 2023
Israeli forces laid siege to the Indonesia Hospital in Beit Lahiya for days. The Israeli forces left the hospital in ruins, with charred and decomposing bodies piling up in corners.
January 4, 2025
The Indonesian Hospital in north Gaza was put out of service following repeated attacks by Israeli forces, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
March 23, 2025
Israeli forces reportedly shot 15 Palestinian medics, working for the Palestine Red Crescent Society, dead during a rescue mission in Rafah’s Tal as-Sultan neighbourhood. A video recovered from the mobile phone of one of the killed Palestinian medics showed Israeli forces’ involvement, igniting widespread outrage.

Hamas ‘studying’ Israeli ceasefire proposal, demand to disarm a ‘red line’ | Israel-Palestine conflict News

Hamas says latest Israeli ceasefire proposal demanding the Palestinian group disarm crosses ‘a million red lines’.
Negotiations for a renewed ceasefire and an end to the war in Gaza appear to be at an impasse after Israel issued new demands for Hamas to disarm in its latest proposal that offers only a temporary halt to attacks on the Palestinian territory, where the death toll is quickly approaching at least 51,000.
Israel issued its latest proposal to Egyptian and Qatari mediators on Monday, offering a 45-day temporary ceasefire in exchange for Hamas releasing 11 Israeli captives still held in Gaza.
Hamas said in a statement that it was reviewing the latest Israeli proposal and would respond as “soon as possible”.
Senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri told Al Jazeera prior to the release of the official statement that Hamas would not accept any demand to disarm, saying that “as long as there is an occupation, the resistance will continue”.
“The request to disarm Hamas is not even acceptable to hear. This is not just a red line, it is a million red lines,” Abu Zuhri said. “Everyone should understand that this is a dream – daydreaming. It cannot be achieved.”
Hamas has insisted that Israel commit to ending the war and remove its forces from Gaza. In return, it has offered to hand over all remaining captives “in one batch”.
Al Jazeera correspondent Nour Odeh said the demand that Hamas disarm was likely a non-starter after Israel publicly outlined a plan to forcibly expel Palestinians from Gaza.
“While Palestinians are listening to Israel talking about ethnically cleansing the enclave of its Palestinian population, forming a department in the Ministry of Defence to achieve that goal, it is difficult to see any Palestinian group talking about laying down arms in the absence of any political horizon,” Odeh said.
“So for now, Hamas is saying the arms, the issue of disarming, is a red line, and there is no way to talk about that without talking about an end to the war.”
The latest round of talks held in Cairo on Monday ended with no apparent movement towards permanently ending the war, which has escalated since Israel broke the ceasefire in Gaza on March 18 following a deal that was reached with Hamas in late January.
Since restarting the war, Israel has killed more than 1,500 Palestinians according to Gaza health authorities. Gaza’s Ministry of Health says at least 50,983 Palestinians are confirmed dead and 116,274 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza.
Hundreds of thousands of people have again been displaced since Israel resumed its campaign as well as imposed a total blockade on Gaza, forcing the territory into a state of siege and starvation.

US attacks on Yemen killed 123 people since mid-March: Health authorities | Houthis News

Houthi-affiliated outlet reports 15 US strikes in Marib, as Yemeni group vows to maintain ‘steadfast position’ on Gaza.
The United States’ bombardment campaign in Yemen has killed at least 123 people – mostly civilians – since mid-March, health officials in the capital Sanaa say.
Yemen’s Ministry of Health said on Monday that US attacks have also injured 247 others, stressing that the victims include many women and children.
Civilians have been targeted, families wiped out, military sites destroyed and soldiers killed.
US President Donald Trump has vowed that the Houthis will be “completely annihilated” under daily strikes by the United States military. Washington says its campaign aims to stop Houthi attacks against Israel as well as shipping lanes in the Red Sea.
However, the Yemeni group has pledged to continue its military operations until Israel ends its war and siege on Gaza in solidarity with Palestinians.
Trump has been suggesting that the Houthi group – also known as Ansar Allah – has been severely weakened. But the Yemeni group says the US offensive has proven to be a failure and is only targeting civil officials and civilian infrastructure.
On Sunday, a US strike targeted a ceramic factory in Sanaa province, killing six people and injuring 30 others, according to the Health Ministry.
“We hold the American administration fully responsible for its continuing crimes and massacres against civilian dignitaries and civilians and its direct and repeated bombardment of infrastructure, industrial facilities and civil officials,” the ministry said.
On Monday, the Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV reported more US attacks, including 15 strikes in the Marib governorate.
Despite the US campaign, the Iran-aligned Houthis – who present themselves as Yemen’s official armed forces – said on Sunday that they fired two missiles at Israel and launched a separate drone attack against a “vital” target on the Israeli coast.
“The Israeli enemy, along with the Americans, must realise that beloved Yemen – its leadership, people, and army – will not back down from its steadfast position in supporting and backing the oppressed Palestinian people … regardless of the repercussions and the outcomes,” the Yemeni group said in a statement.
The Houthi attack triggered sirens in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv on Sunday, but the Israeli army said it detected and intercepted one missile, not two.
Hamas praised the latest attack, with the spokesperson of its military branch, Abu Obeida, saying that Palestinians will not forget the “honourable” stance of the Yemeni group.
“The honest brothers in Yemen continue to insist on paralysing the heart of the Zionist entity, standing by Gaza, which is being subjected to a fierce genocide, despite paying a heavy price with their precious blood and their country’s resources,” Abu Obeida said in a statement.
